Overview

The Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement, also known as the Level 3 CAVA Assessor course replaces A1 course and is considered an industry standard qualification for people looking to assess learners for accredited courses.Previously if you wanted to train to become an assessor you would complete the D32 and D33 units. The D Units were replaced by the A1 Award.  Finally, the A1 Award were replaced by the current suite of qualifications, which are commonly referred to as TAQA (Training Assessment and Quality Assurance).Most training centres would expect you to have CAVA assessor qualification before you start assessing in the FE and HE sectors. You are not required to have any prior qualification or experience to start this CAVA certificate, just a passion to teach or train. This NVQ assessor course will assist you regardless of your subject expertise, whether you teach music or coach people. The course is accredited by UK OFQUAL, and is delivered 100% online. We will offer support to you.

Duration and Delivery

This course is designed to be completed online at the pace that suits you best. The fast-track level 3 CAVA course can take as little as 1 week or up to 8 weeks. This level 3 assessor qualification is delivered through our Virtual Learning Environment. Our online tutor support is there to facilitate you to achieve your success rate accordingly.

Assessment and Verification

All units within this assessing qualification are internally assessed by our qualified assessors and externally verified by the awarding organisation. The assessment takes the form of written assignments and demonstration of assessment skills through video recording, detailed guidance for which will be provided by the tutor.

Progression

Successful completion of this 100% accredited online course enables learners to proceed to the Level 4 Certificate in Leading the IQA of Assessment Processes and Practices and the Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training. Entry Requirement

Learners should:

  • be aged 19 or over
  • have a satisfactory level of Literacy and Numeracy skills
  • have access to atleast two learners on accredited courses to assess each unit
Practical Requirement

Unit 2 and 3 are practical and expects that you assess two learners studying for a course that is work based and studying for a course that is mostly theoretical in nature respectively.

How will I be assessed?
Unit 1 will be assessed through written assignment. For Units 2 and 3, you will be assessed in a work environment, practically assessing your learners work.
