At Britannia Training Centre, we pride ourselves on being a pioneer of change so that we can meet the diverse needs of our trainee teachers. Therefore, in response to a huge demand for work placements, we have launched the following scheme:

  • You will be assigned an experienced and professional mentor to ensure effective training arrangements.
  • The placement will allow you to complete 30 hours of teaching that meets the requirement of the Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training.
  • The work placement would include 3 hours of teaching observation by a member of our academic team. Constructive feedback would be provided so that you can improve your teaching to meet the industry requirements including expectations of Ofsted.
  • You won’t be required to physically attend our premises. The work placement would require that you teach virtually from home.
  • In order to cover the administrative costs of this programme, we will be unable to offer the course at the standard promotional price of our Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training. Therefore, this programme will be offered for £649 - from our normal price of £1,300.
  • Work placements will be offered to teach one of the following courses. The courses have been selected at a basic level so that the trainee teachers with little or no experience of the subject area can still teach the units with little preparation.
  • Focus Awards Level 3 Award in Education and Training
  • Focus Awards Level 1-3 in Customer Service
  • Focus Awards Level 1-3 in Business Administration
  • Focus Awards Level 1-3 in Accountancy
  • Focus Awards Level 3 in Mathematics
  • Focus Awards Level 3 in Literacy
  • Focus Awards Level 1-2 in Employability Skills
  • Focus Awards Level 1-3 Beautician Courses
  • Focus Awards Level 1-3 Health and Social Care

Once you complete your work placement and the Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training, you will of course be eligible to teach any subject that you so wish. Your choice or allocation of subject for the purpose of this placement in no way impacts your eligibility to teach other subjects in your professional career.

Your placement will start on completion of Unit 1 of your Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training. This allows for teachers to familiarise themselves with the basics of education and training prior to teaching.
