At Britannia Training Centre, We pride ourselves on being a pioneer of change so that we can meet the diverse needs of our trainee teachers. Therefore, in response to a huge demand for work placements at two different locations to fulfil the practical requirement of Level 5 Diploma in Teaching (FE and Skills), we have launched the following scheme:

The placement will allow you to complete practical components (placement hours) alongside the theoretical component to meet the required Level 5 Diploma in Teaching (FE and Skills) standards.

The work placement includes 150 teaching and 100 non-teaching hours at two locations where you will be assigned experienced and professional mentors to ensure adequate training arrangements. The details of primary and secondary work placements are as follows:

Please note: Primary locations in the physical setting will be arranged based on availability in your subject-specific area. While we will take your preferences into account, we cannot guarantee a specific location based on your residential area. We will, however, work closely with you to identify a suitable setting for this placement, ensuring its suitability and a smooth experience.

You are also encouraged to seek a placement independently within your own local area or specialist sector. If you find a suitable opportunity, we will fully support you by providing reference letters, confirmation documents, and any additional paperwork required by the employer or setting.

For your secondary placement, you will be asked to choose two subject areas for your placement – one specialist and one non-specialist – from the list below:

Education and Training (e.g. Level 3 AET)
Customer Service
Business Administration
Accountancy
Mathematics
Literacy
Employability Skills
Health and Social Care

These subjects are offered at an accessible level, ensuring you can deliver confidently with minimal preparation or prior subject knowledge in non-specialist areas.

To support the operational delivery of these structured placements, this version of the Level 5 Diploma in Teaching (FE and Skills) is offered at £3,499, discounted up to 60% from our standard price of £5,600.

Your placement schedule will be arranged in one of the following time slots: 06:00–09:00 GMT or 10:00–13:00 GMT, Monday to Friday, in coordination with learners and mentors, based on their availability, to ensure a smooth experience.

All required documentation and relevant tasks will be completed and provided to finalise your portfolio, with ongoing guidance and support from your tutor throughout the process.

If you do not currently hold Level 2 literacy and numeracy skills, which are a requirement of this course, you have the option to take those courses alongside your work placement to fulfil the eligibility requirements by selecting the suitable option.
