The level 4 award in understanding the internal quality assurance of assessment and process is designed for learners who want to develop skills and knowledge in quality assurance of assessment without putting it into practice. As it is a knowledge-based award, it is an ideal choice for those who need to understand the principles and practices of internal quality assurance. Furthermore, to enrol in the course, you don’t need any work experience or education. The course is accredited by the UK Ofqual and is delivered completely online via VLE.
As it is a knowledge-based qualification, it provides information about the methods and concepts of internal quality assurance without practising. This being said, you will not be able to work as an internal verifier or quality assurer.
On the other hand, if you are looking to perform internal quality Assurance functions you can either choose Focus Awards Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practices or Focus Awards Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practices (RQF).

I have worked in education for 34 years, in various guises. I managed a busy nursery for 12 years before branching out into Assessment and Quality Assurance, more than 20 years ago. My practice has developed alongside the ever-evolving training and apprenticeship sector, and I have worked in many different settings, including colleges, private training agencies and a foster care agency. I also work part time as a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant for a local charity that supports higher level education for young people with Special Educational and/or behavioural needs and as a tutor for a bespoke programme for one-to-one support.
